Synopsis

Eun-Yi, a middle-aged divorcee, is hired as an upper class family housemaid. But soon enough, master of the house Hoon takes advantage of his social position by slipping into her sheets. Hoon's visits become frequent and Byung-Shik, an old housemaid, reports the affair to Hae-Ra's mother Mi-Hee, who plots to give Hae-Ra the control over her husband. Soon Eun-Yi miraculously becomes pregnant and wants to keep the baby. This is discovered by the family and she's forced to have an abortion by Mi-Hee despite Eun-Yi's plea to let her keep the baby and leave the house. Mi-Hee's plot backfires when Hoon scrutinizes her for terminating his child, even if that child is conceived illegitimately. Her forced abortion turns Eun-Yi's mental condition for the worst and she decides to take the matter into her own hands.

Synopsis:
Secret Garden is a romance fantasy drama brought by the winning combination of Kim Eun Sook and Shin Woo Chul of the Lovers series, On Air and City Hall. The drama tells the story of Kim Joo Won, a seemingly perfect man yet with certain arrogance and childishness in him, and Gil Ra Im, a stuntwoman whose beauty and body are the object of envy of top actresses. One day they went deep into the mountains and entered a strange house. A strange grandmother offered them chocolate to eat. The next day they found themselves changing bodies. This drama will replace the weekend drama 'Life Is Beautiful'.

The lives of pedeatricians who battle daily to help children and their families' happiness.

Few people are aware of the fact that the pedeatric ward exists seperately.
Regardless, the hardworking individuals there steadfastly deliver on their promise to give their very best.

• They face arduous challenges daily ranging from surgery on tiny preterm infants as tiny as a pen and on fetuses.

  These doctors perform amazing feats day in and day out.

  "Good Doctor" deals with the struggles and triumphs of pediatricians who are devoted to the cause of saving young lives.

  Also highlighted in the drama are social issues like medical insurance systems that are flawed and the hospital systems that are geared towards profiteering rather than saving lives, which ultimately affects the working environment of pediatricians.

   

  The show will also throw some important questions along the way as the story unfolds such as "What should grown ups do for the betterment of our children."

  The children in the pediatric ward are our children, nephews and more.

  "Good Doctor" seeks to help make the world a brighter place for the children.

   

  
  

  Not disabled but alternately-abled 

  Some viewers might find it strange to find a less-able or alternately-abled individual starring in a drama instead of a documentary.

  Some might feel uncomfortable with the fact that the star of the show is not a lovely lady or a charming young man.

   

  But there are more ways than one dramas can touch lives and entertain viewers.

  In reality, these type of individuals are marginalized or looked to as subjects of pity.

  But that's not necessarily the case.

  They too have something to offer to this world.

   

  Too many people have the wrong conception of autism.

  With characters featured in films like "Marathon" being one of the more recognized individuals with such conditions, people still view them as social outcasts and victims.

  Unknown to many, there are many different types and levels of these conditions.

  And some are capable of overcoming them and blend in as a contributing member of our society.

  Unfortunately the biggest obstacles standing in their way is the misconception of people, those who provide a glass ceiling that stunt their growth.

  "Good Doctor" shines light on these issues and portray these individuals as normal people with great aspirations and dreams.

Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo (originally Domyoji Tsukasa)

Gu Jun-pyo is the leader of F4 and heir to the global business enterprise of Shinhwa Group. His trademark is his curly hair. He is used to doing whatever he wants whenever he wants and often offends others with his aggressively direct personality. However, under his tough exterior Jun-pyo is a pure-hearted young boy. Gu Jun-pyo was raised by the employees of his parents’ company, since his parents didn’t have time for him, so, naturally, he is attracted by the warmth of Jan-di’s normal family. Although he dismisses Jan-di at first because she is not rich, he ends up falling head over heels for her charming bright personality.

Kim Hyun Joong (SS501) as Yun Ji Hu (originally Hanazawa Rui)

Yun Ji-hu is the most handsome member of F4 and the grandson of a former Korean president. When he was five years old, he was the sole survivor of a car accident that killed both his parents, and as a result he became withdrawn and anti-social. However when he meets his first love, Seo-hyeon, she helps him get over his difficulties. After meeting Jan-di on the staircase, Yun Ji-hu also becomes her knight in shining armor and helps her out whenever she needs it. This character likes to be alone and has a bit of a strange personality. Yun Ji-hu has a great love and talent for music, and is set to become the leader of the Suam Cultural Foundation, Suam Art Center, and Suam Orchestra.

Kim Beom as So Yi Jeong (originally Nishikado Sojiro)

Yi Jeong’s father is Korea’s most famous Master of Arts. When Yi Jeong’s older brother leaves the family, Yi Jeong suddenly becomes the heir to Korea’s largest private museum, Woo Song. He is popular with girls due to his gentle manners and clean-shaven appearance. After being hurt by his first love he turns into a bit of a playboy, but then he starts to show an interest for Jan-di’s friend Ga-eul. Cold and uncompromising at first, Yi Jeong is in fact a warm character at heart.

Kim Jun (T-Max) as Song Wu Bin (originally Mimasaka Akira)

For many generations, Song Wu-bin’s family has been the leaders of the criminal organization, Ilsim, and he is the heir to Ilsim Construction. Ilsim has extensive networks and a great ability in manipulating cash flows, which even the Shinhwa Group cannot ignore. Whenever his fellow F4 members are in trouble, Song Wu-bin makes a call to his large network of connections so that the problem is quickly taken care of. Song Wu-bin has an innate sense of finances and is also a great fighter. Even though he is still young, Song Wu-bin already displays a charisma well fitting for a boss of the underworld.

Gu Hye Seon as Geum Jandi (originally Makino Tsukushi)

Geum Jan-di is a normal schoolgirl whose family manages a small dry cleaning business. One day she is selected to join the prestigious Shinhwa High School, where she joins the swim team. Unable to stand the nagging of her parents, Jan-di decides to attend Shinhwa High School, but when she starts she is tagged with the F4’s red card and has to endure teasing and bullying from them and the other students. However, displaying her strong, bright personality, Jan-di stands up to F4 and the entire student group. At first she begins to fall for F4’s Yun Ji-hu, but then the leader of F4 and heir to the Shinhwa business conglomerate, Gu Jun-pyo, openly professes his love for her in front of the school, and she becomes the envy of all the girls. Geum Jan-di is an optimistic and honorable girl who is never dazzled by financial wealth or social status. Even after she joins Shinwa High School she remains true to her ideals.

A shark that became the ultimate predator at the top of the food chain.

The second in command of Japanese enterprise Jun International Co. established by Yoshimura Junichiro who adopted him and raised him as his heir. His Japanese name is Yoshimura Jun and his past life as Han Ee-soo is completely under veil. He keeps a poker face and has both the ability to bide time until the right moment and the persistence to finish off a job.

With his sharp intelligence and strong desire for victory, he has achieved miraculous growth for Giant Hotel making it one of the biggest players in the Southeast Asian hotel & resort market in just a year after taking over as president.

To him, money and power are virtues. However, this is only a facade. His real goal is not for money or power. Money and power are only weapons for his true purpose.

He always says, "The world needs balance". To achieve that balance, he needs to give back what was received, or to give back something far worse than what he received. The time has finally come. He returns to Korea for the first time in 12 years as Yoshimura Jun sharpening a blade in his heart.

The only daughter of the CEO of Gaya Hotel Group, she is independent, passionate and arrogant. She has the drive to pursue what she wants and the self-esteem to confront anyone without flinching. Her parents, who were in an unhappy arranged marriage, never saw each other except on special occasions. Her womanizing father and her sensitive and prickly mother helped her harbor distrust and disillusionment about marriage. She was able to survive because of her grandfather Jo Sang-gook, the founder of Gaya Hotel Group. As she became older, she learned to trust and admire her grandfather out of anyone else in her life.

Even when she wanted to run away from home, it was her grandfather that helped her stay pat. However, his love was not enough to melt away her pain. Her father's name was in the papers for adultry and her mother had thrown a glass vase at him. Stepping on the broken glass the young Hae-woo walks out of the house. Han Ee-soo follows this girl who had saved him from trouble. That's how her first love came to her.

Ee-soo was warm and strong. He didn't lose faith in people even through his difficulties. He was able to open the way for her to trust in love and people again. She became a girl that laughed again. She now harbored a dream to become an artist. She still had troubles with her parents, but she didn't feel unhappy anymore. She wanted time to pass and both her and Ee-soo to become adults. It was compete happiness that she felt for the first time in her life. However, the unthinkable happened...all at once.

A man who considers warm and true human feelings with importance and a man who does not want to be tied down. He has the skill to look deep into a person's heart and an open mind to look beyond what is there. He has a broad mind to look over petty things, but once something exceeds his set limit, he becomes ruthless and unforgiving.

People think he is an elite who led a model student's life, but he was actually the best fighter in his high school. His younger sibling had died in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Although the driver paid for his crime, he couldn't forget or forgive. He became the school's roughest problem student within a year. Around the same time, Hae-woo started inching her way into his heart. She was also a student looking for an escape and although they expressed it differently, he knew she was as lonely as he was. The desire to protect and comfort her became his first love. However, there was no space in her heart for him.

Thankfully he liked Han Ee-soo who had taken up her heart. It felt like he had met his match. He also believed that it was okay to lose Hae-woo if it was to a guy like Ee-soo.

In the summer of 1983, Tae-hee and In-woo meet and fall in love at first sight. Just as their relationship is blossoming, Tae-hee is tragically killed. Seventeen years later, In-woo has become a high school teacher and married another woman. Meeting his new pupils, In-woo is startled to feel an overwhelming attraction to one of them: Hyun-bin, a 17 year-old boy whose mannerisms begin to increasingly resemble those of Tae-hee's...

Review:
Featuring an inventive endless-love story that transgresses time and death in order to explore various individual resistances and social restrictions that affect gay relationships, this is either a successfully emotive queer movie with unusually straight overtones, or a somewhat fleeting and dissatisfying attempt to capture gestures and images of homosexual love, or both these coded types at once.

Maybe I'm a sucker for surface narration in this particular film, because the moments near the end struck a literal chord as I embraced the idea that love can endure and rekindle in astonishing transformative ways. What this movie tries to tell us in an explicit fashion is that when you're in love it shouldn't matter what kinds of obstacles get in the way. It really savours and complicates this point by having In-woo's (JSA's Lee Byung-hun) dead female flame Tae-hee (Lee Eun-ju from Lover's Concerto) live again within the body of his new young male student, Hyun-bin (Yea Hyun-soo) -- thus resolving from the dominant obstacle a secondary theme in the form of a social issue. Where the system of identification may fall apart for gay audiences, though, is the emphasis (visualised and given voice at the climax) that In-woo's love exists for Tae-hee, but not strictly for Hyun-bin who himself becomes part of this narrative game of avoiding or ignoring obstacles. As I suggested above, however, multiple potential readings are on offer here. I'd like to think that anyone with a soft spot for the concept of undying love will find watching Bungee Jumping a fulfilling experience regardless of their sexual orientation.

Like many contemporary South Korean films, it would be very easy to leap to the conclusion that Bungee Jumping is an allegory for reunification. Of course it is true that boundaries are successfully navigated and crossed in this film, but rather than suggest it engages with a concrete socio-political issue, why not admire instead the remarkably original and fascinating way it incorporates the notion of division with another very different issue currently receiving less cultural attention in Korea? Anyone seeking an extremely moronic version of the reunification metaphor in a Korean film should check out The Coast Guard. Kim Ki-duk's film unveils an astonishingly preposterous final shot almost, it seems, for the sake of making meaning out of nothing in particular. In contrast, Bungee Jumping provides us with an excellent example of how perceptive Korean filmmakers can choose not to say precisely the things that everyone expects them to say.

Recommending films via a system of comparison is always tricky, but my personal range of thoughts and feelings about Bungee Jumping are similar to those I have for Blue Gate Crossing. While the Taiwanese film offers a more insightful depiction of how people handle intimate relationships and struggle with questions of sexual identity, both films reach poignant and nostalgic conclusions in a very natural manner. Although it operates with an outlandish mystical concept, it's easy to relate to the emotional subject material Bungee Jumping evokes and that to me signals a fine work.

Synopsis:
